The apparatus (10) has a riveting fixture (12) penetrated by a work axle (16), and a drive (14) penetrated by a drive axle (20), where the drive axle and the work axle are obliquely arranged to each other in an angle (a) that is smaller than 75 degrees and larger than 30 degrees, preferably 60 degrees. The drive is connected with the riveting fixture over a gear box (24), and formed as an electric drive or a pneumatic drive or a hydraulic drive. The oblique arrangement between the drive and work axles is partially carried-out between a rivet spindle (18) and the gear box.
