The method involves detecting a motion spectrum of the monitored vehicle shock absorber. The verification of the monitored vehicle shock absorber is supervised based on a comparison of the detected motion spectrum and a predetermined motion spectrum. The distance between the resonant peak of the predetermined motion spectrum and the resonance peak of the detected motion spectrum is determined. The error-free state is a state immediately after the assembly of the monitored vehicle shock absorber into a new vehicle.
