The device has a light beam, which detects a vehicle in the wrong direction and includes two barriers. The barriers are opened and the indicator lamps are turned off when reversing through the light beam. A sign in red fluorescent letters is provided on the two barriers for wrong-way drivers. The latter barrier is closed when the vehicle drives through the former barrier with high speed. Another light beam is provided in the internal space of the two barriers.
