The double clutch transmission has two input shafts (11,12) which are provided for the connection to a load clutch (K1,K2), where a switching unit (S7) is provided to connect an idler gear (Z42) of a gear wheel plane (Z4) and an idler gear (Z22) of another gear wheel plane (Z2) directly with each other in a rotating manner. The idler gear of the former gear wheel plane and the idler gear of the latter gear wheel plane are arranged coaxially to a countershaft (14).
