The method involves engaging a non-motorized road user (1) with a mobile radio with navigation functionality and a motor vehicle with car2X functionality such that an adhoc network is established between the non-motorized road user and the motor vehicle. A movement model of the non-motorized road user is created based on movement of the non-motorized road user. Endangerment of the non-motorized road user is determined based on the movement model, and endangerment information is transmitted to the motor vehicle.
