The method involves forming and correlating the sonar data directionally with respect to a transmission signal. The sonar data is originated from a hydrophone arrangement with respect to a symmetry axis (Sy) with a right-left distinction. The non-standard sonar values of the data points are normalized to obtain normalized sonar values. A similarity value is formed between an average non-normalized sonar value of an object and a mean non-normalized sonar value of a reflected object. The object is assigned as a dummy target, when the similarity value is high. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a sonar-based computer with a computer memory; and (2) a computer program product with a computer readable medium for implementing a computer to allow the method for processing sonar data from a blumb bob pendulum.
