Semi-finished product comprises (a) organic fibers, (b) binders, (c) 15-90 vol.% metallic fillers, and (d) 0-15 vol.% non-metallic inorganic fillers. The total content of the fillers (c) and (d) is not 90 vol.% semi-finished product. The total volume of the is based on the solid volume of the semi-finished product. The metallic filler (c) comprises stainless steel with more than 20 wt.% chromium. Independent claims are also included for: producing a metallic material using the semi-finished product, comprising sintering the semi-finished product at a temperature higher than 1000[deg]C, infiltrating the semi-finished product with organic binders, preferably phenolic resins, or an inorganic binder, preferably with a silicate binder with subsequent thermal treatment at a temperature up to 300[deg]C, preferably up to 200[deg]C, infiltrating the semi-finished product with a hybrid polymer and or metal-organic polymer, preferably silane, siloxane or silazane with subsequent thermal treatment at a temperature up to 300[deg]C, preferably up to 200[deg]C with subsequent pyrolysis at temperatures up to 1600[deg]C, preferably up to 800[deg]C, or pyrolyzing the semi-finished product at a temperature up to 1200[deg]C, preferably up to 800[deg]C with subsequent sintering at a temperature up to 1600[deg]C, preferably up to 1000[deg]C; and the metallic material, which is obtained by the above mentioned method.
