The battery (8) has a set of single battery cells with a latent heat storage that is connectable with a cooling circuit (7). The cooling circuit is provided in indirect heat conducting contact with the set of single battery cells, where the latent heat storage is arranged with a phase change material e.g. sodium acetate hydrate. The latent heat storage is arranged with a controllable initiator e.g. mechanical or electrical operated initiator, in a region of the phase change material. The phase change material is allowed to surround the single battery cells.
