The structure has grooves formed by connecting opposite side sections of a roof section with upper end sections of a body side section (2). The roof section is constructed in an underside of a roof panel by placing a strip-like roof cross beam (4) along a transverse direction of a vehicle. An edge portion of the roof cross beam is connected with two sides of a bead having an upper edge portion and an inner roof longitudinal carrier (6). Flange extensions are joined to opposite sides of the roof cross beam along the transverse direction of the vehicle.
