The motor car roof (10) has a roof portion (1) which is made of an aluminum-based material, and in which a roof opening (11) is formed. The roof opening is surrounded by a reinforcement frame (2) made of the aluminum-based material. The reinforcement frame is overlapped at edges of the roof opening of the roof portion. The reinforcing frame is connected with the roof portion, via multiple welding points (6). The roof opening is adapted to receive a sliding roof insert portion or a sliding-lifting roof insert portion. An independent claim is included for a manufacturing method of a motor car roof.
