The battery cell stack (1) has multiple battery cells (2), which are arranged next to each other on a base level. The battery cells are inclined to each other by a predetermined angle with respect to the base level so that the height of the battery cell stack perpendicular to the base level is smaller than the height of the battery cell stack perpendicular with respect to the battery cells arranged next to each other on the base level. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a high voltage battery with a housing; and (2) a motor vehicle with an electric drive.
