The unit (1) has a base body (2) provided with a contact surface (7). The contact surface is provided against a front end of a flow cell. The base body is aligned and positioned relative to a flux channel of the flow cell at a reference surface. The base body receives a terminal piece such that the base body occupies a preset position relative to the flowpath. The front end facing away from the flow cell is formed by an outer surface of a flange of the flow cell. The front end of the terminal piece is connected with a light conductor and a sample supply. An independent claim is also included for a method for positioning of a positioning unit.
