The device (1) has a coating device (4) for applying coating material (3) on a film (2). The coating device applies coating material simultaneously with different flow rates in different sections (7,8) of film. The coating device is provided with coating discharge openings (5,6) that apply coating material with different flow rates on different portions of film. The coating device has a conduit unit (14) for coating discharge openings and has a partially formed separate conduit section (12,13). A volume flow regulator (15) is arranged in the conduit section.
