The system (10) has a mirror (18) and a laser unit (16) which are arranged in a waterproof housing on a front bumper of motor vehicle. The laser unit is provided to emit light onto the surface (20) of the mirror, such that complex optical pattern (14) is imaged on surface. A control unit is provided to control laser unit and/or mirror.
