The electric machine (100) has an anti-interference capacitor which is arranged centrally with respect to the rotor shaft (18). The capacitor is protected against influences by a pot-shaped protective cap (34) formed with a bottom portion and an axially protruding cladding region. The protective cap is provided with pads connected with the bus bars for conducting electric current. The protective cap is made of an insulative material. An independent claim is included for method for the manufacture of an electric machine.
