The method comprises layer-by-layer melting of metal powder located in an installation space (2) of a component (8) by an energy source, where the energy required for melting is detected by a detection device and is regulated depending on the position of the component. The method further comprises carrying out controlled melting of the powder by the source at the positions of the component, in which too little energy is introduced. The parameters of the source depend on the position of the component, where the newly deposited material forms a bond with the already converted material. An independent claim is included for an apparatus for generative and layer-wise production of a component.
