The module (10) has multiple electrically cell regions (11), which are connected to one another through a contact pattern (11a) and arranged on a common transparent substrate. Light transmissive portions (10a) are formed on the substrate with respect to the contact pattern of the cell regions. A back reflector is arranged outside the transparent regions, where orientation of the transparent regions is orthogonal to orientation of the cell region. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a semi-transparent thin film solar module.
