A double-sided cutting insert to the milling with eight main cutting edges and eight finishing edges. The cutting insert has an upper and lower sides and four side surfaces in. Each lateral surface comprises a first and second surface, which are mutually inclined. The first surface has a main cutting edge, which is adjacent to the top side, and a finishing edge, which is adjacent to the underside. The second surface has a finishing edge, which is adjacent to the top side, and a main cutting edge, which is adjacent to the underside. The finishing edge of the second surface is from the cutting insert with respect to the main cutting edge of the first surface inwardly inclined. The finishing edge of the first surface is from the cutting insert with respect to the main cutting edge of the second surface inwardly inclined.
