A motor assembly is provided that includes a block that defines a plurality of cylinders. A plurality of pistons are disposed in the plurality of cylinders, and a crankshaft is drivingly connected to the plurality of pistons. A cover is attached to one end of the block and carries a crankshaft seal around the crankshaft. The cover includes a knobbed pattern in a surface adjacent the crankshaft seal.
