The subject of the present invention is an Archimedean screw comprising a core (1) of tabular shape laterally delimited by a surface of revolution or lateral surface and at least one screw thread flight (2) fixed around said core (1) on the lateral surface thereof. The or each thread flight (2) is modular and dismantleable and made up of a juxtaposition of vanes (7) covering a surface and having a contour that are suited to allowing the thread flight (2) to be created to be reconstructed and comprising an assembly part allowing the removable assembly or connection of the vane (7) concerned with the lateral surface of the core (1) and fixing means allowing a rigid and dismantleable complete connection to be made between the assembly part of each vane (7) and said lateral surface. Another subject of the present invention is an installation of the pump or hydroelectric power station type fitted with at least one such screw.
