The device has a movable hold including a base that comprises a sole. A shoe (17) is carried by the base, where the shoe includes an aligning unit i.e. roller (44), that is intended to be applied against a tread of a wheel. The shoe longitudinally passes through the base by a sliding motion between a retracted position and a contact position. The movable hold comprises a constraint setting unit e.g. sliding ring (56), that is utilized for setting a face of the aligning unit against the tread.
