The method involves recording a cerebral activity of an individual by acquiring brain images using a MRI device. A perceptible visual-spatial stimulus is provided by the individual. Stimulated linguistic exercises and stimulated visuo-space exercises are sequentially realized. Mapping of lateralized brain functions of the individual implied during realization of the exercises is determined according to the brain images acquired at the time of the realized exercises. Figurative generation exercises are generated. The linguistic exercises are selected from a group consisting of figurative generation of exercises for quiet generation of sentence, nonfigurative generation exercises for quiet generation of a list of words, figurative listening exercises for listening of sentence, nonfigurative listening exercises for listening of a list of words, figurative reading exercises for quiet reading of a sentence, nonfigurative reading exercises for quiet reading of a list of words, semantic exercises and/or rhymes exercises. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for obtaining a mapping of lateralized brain functions of an individual (2) a computer program product comprising a set of instructions for executing a method for obtaining a mapping of lateralized brain functions of an individual.
