The installation has a horizontal table (1) including a displacement unit of a sheet metal strip (3), a presser and a cutting tool. The tool is arranged to cut out a blank (3a) from the strip according to a notched cutting line. A movable roller carriage (17) is arranged to be positioned under a notched side of the strip after actuation of the tool so as to be used to act as a support for the side at the time of disengagement of the side from the tool. The carriage shows a notched profile complementary to a profile of a lower blade (11).
