摘要

In the supply drives of numerically controlled metal-cutting machine tools, the actuators employed are closed self-braking mechanisms. Such actuators are formed by two parallel kinematic systems with common initial (input) and final (output) components. In each system, there is a self-braking transmission: a worm, worm-rack, or screw-nut slip transmission. Such actuators permit elimination of the kinematic gap, greater rigidity of the drive mechanical system, and (thanks to the self-braking transmission) smoother motion of the working part and limitation of vibrations. However, in order to use closed self-braking actuators, designers must know their operational characteristics for correct parameter selection, or else the drive may prove unoperational.
