The device has a flexible surface including flexible electric heaters i.e. flexible resistor cords (21-23) intended to heat a part of the flexible surface. A control unit (3) is provided to automatically vary the electrical power supplied to each flexible resistor cord. The control unit is programmable to process information provided by a temperature sensor, where the flexible surface has a shape of a mattress, or a blanket, or a sleeping bag. The control unit is powered by a mains connection (5).
