The heater (1) has two laminar supports (10) and/or laminar support sections (10'), two electrical heating resistors (12, 13), and two heating resistor sections (12', 13'), where the heater is laminarly and three-dimensionally formed. The support is partially arranged between the heating resistors and/or the heating resistor sections. The supports and/or the support sections are arranged on top of each other with respect to an object to be heated. Recesses (26) are formed in the laminar supports. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a heater.
