Rubber composition comprises an epoxy resin comprising at least one pattern having an aromatic ring and/or an unsaturated aliphatic chain. The composition is devoid of an amine hardener. An independent claim is included for use of the epoxy resin as a vulcanization retardant in the rubber composition.
