The system has an air-conditioning cabinet (102) including a refrigeration production integrated direct expansion group coupled to a battery (104-a) for gas/air exchange by evaporation and for absorbing heat from the air, and to another battery (104-b) for allowing air or cooling water exchange. The latter battery is coupled to a chilled water tank (106), where the system operates cyclically in a cooling mode to utilize the former battery to cool the chilled water tank, and another cooling mode to utilize the latter battery for cooling the computer room with energy from the chilled water tank. An independent claim is also included for a method for cooling a computer room.
