The device (6) has an electric motor (2) accommodated in a cavity (17) of a housing (7). The motor drives a compression mechanism e.g. spiral type compression mechanism, of refrigerant liquid. The cavity circulates the liquid in contact with the motor. A guide unit (16) i.e. projection, guides the refrigerant liquid in a direction of a preset zone e.g. wall (4), separating the cavity from an electric control device (1) i.e. inverter, of the electric motor. The housing includes an opening (8) provided at right of the electric motor for allowing the refrigerant liquid to enter the cavity.
