PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To categorize spots on the basis of propagation characteristics of the spots for use in or with mobile communication devices.SOLUTION: A method comprises: defining and determining a plurality of spot types; and identifying a plurality of spot types for a plurality of spots on the basis of structural features of the plurality of spots by processing radio frequency (RF) measurements obtained at one or more predetermined locations in the plurality of spots from one or more wireless devices.
