PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection work and an installation method of the protection work, capable of reducing an oppression feeling imparted to a passerby, and capable of enhancing an image of a construction site.;SOLUTION: A protection work on the present invention is a tunnel-shaped protection work 1 temporarily installed in a construction site of construction executed above a road R. The protection work 1 comprises a ceiling wall 2 supported by a frame of the construction site, a pair of sidewalls 3 positioned between the ceiling wall 2 and the road R and provided with respect to the ceiling wall 2 and an LED lighting device 20 installed on an under surface of the ceiling wall 2 and irradiating the an inside surface of the sidewalls 3 with light.
