PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pleat filter for preventing breakage due to use so that it contributes to the stable use for a long period, and a ballast water processing apparatus using the pleat filter.SOLUTION: In a pleat filter, a filter base material having folds by repeating crest parts and trough parts is formed into a cylindrical shape having said folds axially in the ridge line direction. The pleat filter is equipped, on the folds bulging to the outer side of a cylindrical shape, with a reinforcement member on the inner side of the folds along the ridge line direction and has an adhesive joint at which the reinforcement member and the filter base material are integrated along the ridge line direction.
