PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an absorption coefficient without largely changing an absorption wavelength band.SOLUTION: A dye-sensitized solar cell module 10 has a plurality of dye-sensitized solar cells 40. The dye-sensitized solar cell 40 comprises a photoelectrode 20 having a porous semiconductor layer 24 including a metal complex on a transparent electroconductive substrate 14, a counter electrode 30 interposed between the photoelectrode 20 and the counter electrode 30 and disposed so as to face the photoelectrode 20, and an electrolyte layer 26 including an electrolytic solution. The metal complex has an anionic complex having a transition metal ion and a tridentate terpyridine ligand having three pyridine structures coordinated to the transition metal ion in which an electron attractive group is bonded through an aryl group to at least one of pyridine structures and a carboxyl group is bonded to the remaining pyridine structure or structures, and a counter cation attached to the anionic complex.
