PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for electrostatic latent image development that can achieve sufficiently low fixing temperature and maintain proper chargeability for a long period even if coated with a hard thermosetting resin.SOLUTION: A toner for electrostatic latent image development of the present invention includes a toner core including a binder resin, a shell layer coating the surface of the toner core, and acicular inorganic fine particles. The shell layer includes a thermosetting resin and has the inorganic fine particles therein. The inorganic fine particles have an aspect ratio of 1.25 or more and 2.5 or less, and an average major axis diameter and an average minor axis diameter of 300 nm or less.
