PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nucleic acid for determining the number of times of thawing a frozen good, and a method to determine the number of times of thawing the frozen good using the same.SOLUTION: A nucleic acid for determining the number of times of thawing a frozen good is any of: a nucleic acid containing a specific base sequence; a nucleic acid which hybridizes a nucleic acid composed of a base sequence complementary to the nucleic acid under a stringent condition; a nucleic acid containing a base sequence which is obtained by deleting, substituting, or adding one or several bases in the base sequence of the nucleic acid; and a nucleic acid of which base sequence that has 80% or higher of identity with the base sequence of the nucleic acid. A method to determine the number of times of thawing a frozen good is provided which utilizes that the peak area formed by a high speed liquid chromatography is decreased in the nucleic acid for determination whenever the frozen good is thawed.
