PERMEABLE THREE DIMENSIONAL MULTI-LAYER FARMING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three dimensional multi-layer farming (MLF) by a progressive system, means and method that increase three dimensional plant productivity, three dimensional yield and tons/m³/year.;SOLUTION: Each layer in the MLF system comprises at least one string of SanSSoil growth elements (SGE), each of which carries out multiple functions to sustain plant growth and is integrated to reduce the costs of these functions. In addition, all the layers comprise new permeability features enabling sharing of resources to minimize the initial capital cost and the variable cost of consumables: (1) a layer is light permeable so that minimum artificial lights are used and shared throughout a plant growth process; (2) roots and shoots of plants in each layer share space of roots and shoots of adjacent layers, thereby achieving vertical space compression; and (3) the layers are permeable to nutrient fluids to minimize fluid delivery sources.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
