PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an electrode on the edge faces of rod-shaped zinc oxide fine particles by orientating the edge faces of the fine particles by a simple method.;SOLUTION: A thin film of zinc oxide is formed on a substrate, with the thin film as the nucleus, a base is added to a zinc salt aqueous solution to form a plurality of rod-shaped zinc oxide fine particles vertically oriented to the substrate, the edge faces of the oriented zinc oxide fine particles are irradiated with a laser, and the vicinities of the edge faces are melted to form continuous edge faces.
