Attenuated swine flu vaccine and methods for producing and using the same

The present disclosure provides attenuated swine flu strains, particularly attenuated swine flu strains produced by a reverse genetics approach, compositions containing them, and methods of making and using the same. The attenuated strain is engineered to encode an HA protein that has an additional glycosylation site relative to the HA protein encoded by the corresponding virulent parent virus. Advantageously, attenuated influenza strains can be administered.
