Adjuvanted swine flu vaccine tops whole-virus vaccine

Adjuvanted H1N1 swine influenza vaccine achieves a stronger and more rapid immune response than a whole-virus vaccine, according to a recent study (published online in The Lancet Infectious Diseases, 17 December 2010). The study, led by UK researchers at the University of Leicester, reports on the first head-to-head trial of two commercially available H1N1 vaccines purchased by the UK Government in 2009.
