PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for planning a challenge race.SOLUTION: A server 42 transmits notification showing a start time of a challenge race to a portable sport activity monitoring device 12 of a challenger participating in the challenge race. The server 42 receives performance information on an athlete 14 from the portable sport activity monitoring device 12. The server 42 generates performance and a ranking calculation on the basis of athlete performance information received through the challenge race. The server 42 determines a result of the challenge race. The whole monitoring of the participating challenger is based on a registration method which provides synchronization between the server 42 and the portable sport activity monitoring device 12 attached to the participating challenger.
