The present invention relates to novel sterol derivatives, processes for their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and their use for treating diseases associated with transformed astrocytes or for treating malignant blood diseases. The invention particularly relates to the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme and other cancers such as lymphoma, neuroblastoma and melanoma.
