PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organism capable of decomposing aromatic compounds even in an oligotrophic environment.SOLUTION: A polynucleotide encoding one or more proteins and included in an NADPH and/or NADH-dependent aromatic compound conversion enzyme group is introduced into a photosynthetic organism capable of performing photosynthesis and forming NADPH and/or NADH. The aromatic compound conversion enzyme group in the photosynthetic organism can decompose the aromatic compound with the photosynthesized and purified NADPH and/or NADH. Accordingly, the photosynthetic organism can decompose the aromatic compounds even in the oligotrophic environment.
