PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patrol task support system capable of confirming objectively that the quality of a patrol task is constantly maintained by evaluating quantitatively the progress pace of the patrol task.;SOLUTION: A patrol task support system comprises: sign devices 1 installed in inspection areas, respectively; a portable device 2 carried by a patrolman; and a management device 3. The portable device includes means for counting steps 7. The management device includes: storage means 16 for storing in advance reference steps information; steps information comparison means 18 for comparing the reference position information with the current steps information; and steps determination means 19 for determining a comparison result. When the portable device recognizes a sign device, the management device receives the current steps information and identification information to compare the current steps information with the read reference position information.
