An analysis of reconnaissance patrolling, as defined in Premises, Task PATROL, and findings of experimental pilot studies led to development of a PATROL I course of instruction and of proficiency tests for evaluation of elements of the experimental course. Geared to the level of basic training of the individual soldier, the course covered three classes of skills:n1. Land. Navigation (10 Hours)n2. Infomation Collection (5 Hours) a.
