PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of reducing the annual primary energy consumption of a building to net zero.SOLUTION: A building 10A includes: a structure 10 which has electric facilities 10E; and an energy conversion device 12 which supplies electric power to the electric facilities. The energy conversion device includes a closed power cycle 15 and a heat pump HP which are thermally coupled to each other, and generates electric power by generating cold heat from a refrigerant by a heat pump, generating a high-temperature high-pressure working fluid Wfp by compressing a low-temperature low-pressure working fluid Wf by a fluid compressor 27 in the closed power cycle, heating an electric power gas generator 42 to a predetermined temperature with pulse electric power of a power storage unit 20, generating a high-temperature high-pressure gas by bringing the high-temperature high-pressure working fluid into contact with the electric power gas generator, generating mechanical energy by operating a movable piston 200 with the high-temperature high-pressure gas, and supplying the mechanical energy to an electric power generator 16.
