PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crushing device and a chip transferring device enabling chip to be crushed and transferred to a disposal site without requiring space around a machine tool.SOLUTION: A rotary blade 11 of the crushing device has a horizontal rotary shaft and receives from above the chip discharged from a conveyor device. In a start position for descent of a blade 11a of the rotary blade 11, there is provided an upper fixed blade 12 with a clearance from an edge tip of the rotary blade 11, and the upper fixed blade 12 has two or more first groove-like passageways 12b on its opposed surface to the rotary blade 11. Located below is a lower fixed blade 13 with a clearance from the edge tip of the rotary blade 11, which has two or more second shallow passageways 13b. There is disposed a chip reservoir 14 for storing the chip between the upper fixed blade 12 and lower fixed blade 13.
