PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily separate and recover high purity graphite from used magnesia carbon bricks.;SOLUTION: A method for recycling used magnesia carbon bricks includes: a crushing step of crushing the used magnesia carbon bricks; a recovery step in which a crushed product produced by the crushing step is put in water and a surfacing product is separated and recovered from the water by applying a flotation method; and a recycling step of using the surfacing product recovered by the recovery step as a refractory raw material. By the method, high purity graphite can easily be separated and recovered from the used magnesia carbon bricks. The maximum grain diameter of the crushed product is desirably confined to ≤0.3 mm.
