PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-soluble polymer dispersion with excellent storage stability, a paper-strengthening agent imparting high paper strength without disturbing the texture of the obtained paper, a freeness-improving agent for papermaking, and a yield-improving agent for papermaking.;SOLUTION: There is provided the water-soluble polymer dispersion produced by dispersing a water-soluble polymer (A) in a salt aqueous solution having a salt concentration of 10 wt.% or larger and a saturated concentration or less with a polymer dispersant (B) obtained by copolymerizing polymerization components comprising 10 to 99. 979 mol% of a cationic radical-polymerizable monomer (b1) and 0.01-1 mol% of a (meth)allyl group-containing monomer (b2), 0.001-0.1 mol% of a crosslinking monomer (b3), and 0.01-1 mol% of a N-substituted (meth)acrylamide (b4) represented by the formula CH₂=C(R¹)-CONR²(R²), (wherein R¹ is H or methyl, each of R²s is independently a 1-4C linear or branched alkyl), to obtain a dispersion with an average particle size of 0.1-100 μm, with a content of water-soluble polymer (A) of 10 to 40 wt.%, and with a dispersion viscosity of 3,000-20,000 mPa s.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
