PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt non-travel detection method and a belt non-travel detection device for a belt bridle device, capable of reliably detecting the belt non-travel of the belt bridle device without requiring much cost or without increasing the size of the belt bridle device.;SOLUTION: The belt non-travel of a belt bridle device 11 is detected by using a belt non-travel detection device 18 comprising: an infrared camera 19 picking up an image of a surface of a metal band 1 passing through the belt bridle device 11 over the entire width of the metal be an image signal processing device 20 processing an image signal output from the infrared camera 19 to obtain a width directional temperature distribution of the metal band 1; a comparator 22 comparing the width directional temperature distribution of the metal band obtained by the image signal processing device 20 with a reference temperature; and a display device 23 displaying the comparison results of the comparator 22.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
