A first pixel unit pixel number converter 13 outputs a luminance signal Lbp generated by subjecting the luminance signal La to pixel unit pixel number conversion at a sampling frequency of 853 cpL. A feature detector 15 detects a specific waveform pattern mixed in a high frequency range of the luminance signal Lbs, and outputs a control value α for controlling a mixing rate of a mixer 16 generated based upon a detection result.
